Bank of Sharjah offers Visa Credit Cards that have numerous features and benefits.

Visa Credit Cards are the number one cards used around the world and offer exceptional convenience and reliability. Visa has unsurpassed acceptance in more than 150 countries, as well as at Internet merchants. With a Visa Credit Card, you can get cash at more than 840,000 ATMs in the Visa Global ATM Network. It's a secure, reliable way to pay for anything you need, anywhere in the world.

You will be required to enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) when you make a transaction at a chip terminal (and no signature will be required), helping protect the card from unauthorized use. Your PIN is the key to using your card; it will become extremely important to remember your PIN and to keep your PIN secure and safe just like you do with your card.

To change your PIN, visit any Bank of Sharjah ATM.

In addition to Chip & PIN technology, all new VISA Credit Cards issued are also engineered with Contactless functionality symbolized by the indicator present on the face of the card. Contactless technology allows you to make quick small value transactions up to AED 300* without entering a PIN. Simply tap your card to pay on the checkout terminal**.

*The limit can be changed at any time by the regulators and/or the merchant’s acquiring bank and pertains to transactions made in the UAE. In other countries, the limit might be set differently according to the rules in force. Transactions for amounts above these limits will be completed using your PIN.
**A contactless payment can be rejected at any POS terminal and instead the cardholder may be required to perform the transaction using the PIN.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The designated Cardholder whose name appears on the face of the Card may only use any card supplied by Bank of Sharjah (BOS) under the Terms of the Agreement.
  2. The Card is and shall always remain the property of BOS. Its use may be suspended either temporarily or permanently by BOS. Upon request, it must be returned to BOS.
  3. The Cardholder is liable for all charges incurred on the Card.
  4. The Cardholder must sign the Card immediately upon receipt and must keep it secure at all times.
  5. The Card shall only be used within approved credit limits as advised to the Cardholder by the Bank from time to time.
  6. BOS provides a monthly statement showing details of the Card transactions. For customers who have opted to sign up for e-statements, BOS can provide the statement through any of its electronic channels including internet & mobile banking, or as an attachment through email, SMS or other electronic notification including such electronic channels that might be introduced in the future due to technological advancements. For customers who have not signed up for e-statements, BOS can provide the statement through regular post to the customer’s mailing address in its records. It is expressly clarified that the responsibility of BOS is limited to sending the statement through physical or electronic channels, and BOS does not take any responsibility of delivery or receipt of these statements at the customer’s end.
  7. A handling charge will be made to the Cardholder's account for cash advances.
  8. BOS will notify the Cardholder of the suspension or withdrawal of the Card. After the suspension, withdrawal or cessation of validity, the Cardholder is not permitted to use the Card. Usage will include improper use for which the Cardholder is liable.
  9. BOS reserves the right at any time, by providing 60 days’ notice, to amend the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement which govern the use of the card. For customers who have opted to sign up for e-statements, BOS can notify such changes through any electronic channels including internet & mobile banking, or as an attachment through email, or a link to its website, SMS or other electronic notification including such electronic channels that might be introduced in the future due to technological advancements. For customers who have not signed up for e-statements, BOS can notify the same through a letter dispatched through regular post, and such a letter can include a link to its website where the amended T & C are published. It is expressly clarified that the responsibility of BOS is limited to sending the statement through physical or electronic channels, and BOS does not take any responsibility of delivery or receipt of these statements at the customer’s end.
  10. The Terms and Conditions of the Agreement are governed by the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Laws of the U.A.E.
  11. All transactions appearing on Cardholders monthly Statement shall be deemed to be correct and confirmed by the Cardholder unless BOS receives written notification to the contrary from the Cardholder within 15 days from statement date.
  12. If the Card is lost or stolen, the Cardholder must immediately notify BOS by telephone and subsequently, within 7 days in writing.
  13. The Cardholder shall be liable for all charges incurred on the Card after loss or theft but prior to notification of loss. After the time that such notice is given in the aforesaid manner the Cardholder shall have no further liability except for the first US $50.00. Cardholder will be liable for total amount where the charges incurred on the Card after loss or theft are by the Cardholder or with the authority of the Cardholder.
